Privacy policy

Zero-in turns your study material into notes and practice. This draft explains the data used by the current app. Operator details, contact information, and retention periods need to be confirmed before launch.

What you provide

Account details, such as your name, email address, and sign-in information. Passwords created with Zero-in are stored as hashes, not plain text.
Study preferences, topics, uploaded material, saved study sets, and questions you send to the tutor.
An optional AI provider key, if you choose to use your own.

How your material is used

Files are sent to the server for text extraction. Relevant text, your topic, study preferences, and chat context are sent to an AI provider to prepare a response. The app supports Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic. A configured shared-key fallback may use another supported provider.

Using your own key does not keep requests on your device. The key passes through the Zero-in server to make provider requests. The app excludes it from its persisted browser session, but it remains available in memory during your session. Provider processing and retention are subject to that provider's terms.

Accounts and service providers

Saved account study sets and profile information are stored in the application database. Google or GitHub sign-in shares the account information needed to authenticate you. Resend handles verification and password-reset email. Hosting and database services process requests and stored account data; Upstash services may handle rate limits, caches, and background jobs when configured.

Requests may include IP addresses and technical information used for rate limiting and troubleshooting. Service-provider locations, operational logs, and any deployment-level analytics must be confirmed before this policy becomes effective.

Cookies and browser storage

Sign-in, guest mode, and onboarding use cookies. Browser storage remembers your theme, study preferences, provider selection, and local study sets. Guest study sets are saved in the browser, but generating material still sends requests to the server and AI provider.

You can remove local data through your browser settings. Clearing browser data does not delete saved account records or material already processed by a provider.

Saving and deleting

Deleting an account study set currently marks its database record as deleted. It does not immediately erase that record or backups. A confirmed retention schedule and a contact route for access, correction, account deletion, and other privacy requests are required before launch.

Do not upload material you are not allowed to share. Avoid including sensitive personal information that is not needed for studying.

The operator's identity and public privacy contact will be published here before launch. This draft does not promise a deletion deadline, provider training restriction, or data location that has not been verified.
